Books and Materials Endowment
In 2004, a million dollar Books and Materials Endowment was established by the Foundation and was a joint effort between the Foundation and Friends of the Sacramento Public Library. As of June 30, 2012 the endowment is valued at $1,093,823 and has distributed $404,000 to the Library.
This endowment pays the interest generated by the principal to make an annual contribution toward books and materials for the Sacramento Public Library.

The Sacramento Room
In 2007, the Board of Directors of the Sacramento Public Library Foundation voted to establish an endowment for The Sacramento Room. The Foundation will continue to increase the principal of the endowment in support of the archive. As of June 30, 2012 the endowment is valued at $1,116,718 and has distributed $47,500 to the Library.
This endowment pays the interest generated by the principal to make an annual contribution toward digitizing segments of the collection including old and rare photographs, which gives customers internet access to segments of the archive.
