Award-winning author featured at Sacramento Public Library Foundation’s Sept. 25 donor event
The Sacramento Public Library Foundation hosted its annual ‘Pride of the Library’ Celebration for Foundation donors. Two hundred and fifty guests enjoyed hearing from Steven Lopez, author of The New York Times and Los Angeles Times best-selling book, The Soloist, as well as a humorous introduction of Mr. Lopez by Mayor Kevin Johnson.
The Library Foundation’s annual Pride of the Library reception served as a thank you to donors who have given $100 or more to the Sacramento Public Library Foundation over the last year.
Lopez’ book is the 2009 One Book Sacramento: Connecting Our Communities selection. Community members are encouraged to read The Soloist and attend book-related themed programs at Sacramento Public Library branches throughout October.
