April Butcher, a native of Sacramento, CA, has been the Foundation's Executive Director for nearly 6 years. Butcher obtained a Theater Arts bachelor's degree from San Francisco State University an MBA in Finance from The F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business, Babson College.
“I have volunteered a great deal for children's organizations and democracy efforts around the country and have come to see the Library as the most significant democracy institution in the United States. Everyone can come into a public library and everyone has equal access to its resources. Libraries are the place that gives everyone an equal chance.
